5:18 pm - Ooooh.. Spore is gonna be so awesome.
Am watching X-play at the moment, and they mentioned that you're going to be able to use Spore to make comics and movies.
I've been wanting to make a comic for ages, but I can't draw worth a damn, so I haven't been able to do anything about it. So this is going to be awesome for me.

Heh.. the other day one of the cat caught a giant rat.. like half the size of Leo giant.. And they left the bottom half of it in the hall to the loo. I don't understand why they can never finish their damn catches.

I want to build an Earthship house.. It's the time of the year when this house turns into a freezer.

7:08 am - Games.
So, I got GTA4 a few weeks ago. It's a good game and I like it, but it doesn't seem as fun as San Andreas was and I enjoyed Saints Row a bit more. Maybe it's because I don't have a mobile, but I didn't like the way the mobile in the game ran your life. Also, there's practically nothing to unlock beyond the friendships. I liked SA and SR for letting you unlock weapons at your crib as well as the side-missions. Ambulance, Firefighter, Train driving, Truck driving, Bulldozers and heaps more in San Andreas. Drug Trafficing, Escorts, Chop shop (was really not as much fun in GTA4), Demolition Derby, Strongholds in Saints Row.
So, yeah. It's a good game, but not the best and certainly not the greatest since Ocarina of Time.
Here's hoping that Saints Row 2 will be as good as I hope.

Now, here's some games that I want!
Rogue Galaxy: Space pirates. 'Nuff said. (PS2)
Sam & Max Season One: Really fun looking point and click kinda game for the PC. About 8 levels (episodes) in the Season {PC)
Overlord: You get to be a evil Overlord of these little gremlim type creatures. Looks lots of fun! (360)
Opoona: Interesting looking game. Coming out at the end of July (Wii)
Space Station Tycoon: Not usually into the Tycoon games, but this one doesn't take itself as seriously as some of the others out there. From the cover art, there also seems to be space pirates in the game, so that's coo. No release date yet. {Wii}
Monster Lab: An interesting sounding game. Supposed to be an adult Pokemon. {Wii and DS)
Elebits: Very fun looking game with these weird elecric critters that you gotta catch {Wii)
Bully: A game that pisses Jack Thompson right off. He's a shithead, but the game still looks cool. Looking for the Scholarship Edition (PS2, Wii, 360)
Arkadian Warriors: Fun looking dungeon crawler (360, PC)
Fable II: Got the first game, which is fun and entertaining. The second will will likely be even more fun and entertaining. Quests, your character changes based on your evil or goodness as well as getting older as you play. (360)
USB drum kit: Not really a game, but a sweet drum kit that you can roll up and plug into a USB port.
Mushroom Men: A game being made in Australia. A comet from another planet passes close to Earth and rains down some strange green dust, which causes mushrooms, cacti and kudzu to gain sentience. Looks like it will be lots of fun, plus it's Aussie! (Wii, NDS)
Blue Dragon: A game I saw in EB games and went home to do a bit more research on. It's got 3 disks, so it's either very long, or very detailed.. or both. And it looks like it's pretty fun, too. Waiting for a pre-owned copy to turn up, though.

Well, that's all for now.

7:58 pm - New IRE game coming out this year
So, IRE is finally getting into Sci-fi with thier new space game that should be coming out this year. No website yet, but there is a forum at http://forums.tearsofpolaris.com/ .. It looks like it's going to be pretty sweet, specially cause they're going to rework the skill system. Will still be credits, but you won't have to learn everything in a skill set, which should save on lessons. And there's gonna be Technomages, which is sweet. Check it out!

7:12 am - Jackass... the game..
I was watching X-Play this morning, and they had a review for Jackass The Game.. Now, I'm a Jackass fan.. I like it, so sue me! But this game seems a bit...stupid. I saw like 12 copies at EBgame last week and had myself a little laugh.
Anyway, i doubt I'll be getting this game, even if it's on the PS2. Though, it has a Katamari Demaci (or however it's spelled) kinda game.. Which they still haven't put into PAL yet.

5:16 pm - I gotta get into politics..
I just found out that the party that you mark as #1 in the House of Reps receives $2.10. Also that in the large majority of seats that all the votes will trickle down the preferences until it's either in the Labor or Libral pile. Even if you put them second last and last.
So, yeah, should vote for a smaller party. Your vote will still get to one of the big parties, but they won't get the money.

Also, going to have to number 78 boxes in order to vote for Dr. Karl. Bloody nutty.

5:59 pm - Just some reminders for myself.
This post is mainly just so I can remember later..
Was looking at HBO series and found one called Flight of the Conchords (yes, that's how it's spelt) about a couple of New Zealand people trying to make it big in music in the US. The Wiki page for it lists one of the 'recurring themes and running jokes' as 'Australia as Nemesis'.
It's also got Arj Barker in it. There's no Australian broadcaster listed, so I wanted to write it down as a reminder to keep checking it.
If only I had broadband and could download it..

7:44 pm - Hmm..
Happy birthday to me, I got me a Wii.

There was an ad on TV for Lakeside with a web address, so I decided to have a look.. and bloody hell, so unfair! They had none of this when Nan stayed there.. a water park, Mini-golf and wireless innernet! Wonder if they'll get some paddle boats and those floating bikes like the caravan park on the other side of the lake have..

Anyway, I want to live in an RV or 5th wheel caravan. Would have everything I'd need with my TV, DVD, PS2, Wii, kitchen, Air Con and innernet access at caravan parks these days.. Could move whenever I needed to. Would need to be able to have my water bed, though. Matresses just don't cut it these days..

Gotten into playing Discworld MUD lately. It's pretty cool for the most part. Got a couple of characters there.

It's getting to be summery.. I hate summer. Hot and sweaty, and I always get paranoid about bushfires..

Oh! Gotta remember to enter the Achaea Bardic Contest with my rewritten story..

I think that's about it for now..

1:01 pm - Weird dream
I had a dream the other night that we had got a new kitten. Was very cute and a little tubby, and Lupin and Leo played with it instead of attacking it. Then one day when I got out of bed and went into the loungeroom, the kitten was on Mum's seat and had been shaved with the fur on the chair around it and with Lupin and Leo sitting on the back of the chair grinning.

The Wii is a real pain. I got it to work and played some Wii Sports last night before be.. Now the muscle in my arm is hurting :( Probably not meant to be played in bed..

I wrote two updates to my fan fic last week. I've been writing it for a year now. I tend to not be able to concentrate on writing at home, so this week I went to town three times and went to the Workers Club, and managed to get two chapters out. They're short chapters, but still! The club didn't seem to like me taking up a table to write at :(

7:55 pm - Wii!
I got myself a used Wii from EB Games. Got Zelda Twilight Princess and Rayman: Raving Rabbids. Got it all set up in my room, but the sensor bar isn't in a very good position or something, cause it only picks up the controller from about 20cm :(
Gonna have to try setting it up in the lounge room later.
If only GTA IV and Final Fantasy XIII were coming out on the WII.. Wonder if I should have got a 360 instead..

12:05 pm - I'm an honourary cat...
Okay.. so I live in a farm house.. So there are mice and rats that run around. Sometimes the cats catch some, sometimes they get caught in mouse traps and the cats finish them up..
So, mum goes to bed, and I take her seat, which is a recliner.. My dooner is nice and soft, so I throw that over the chair and sit on top of it... Around 11am, I feel something weird in my shoulder. Almost like the muscles are spasming. I'm used to feeling ticks in my muscles, so I don't pay attention to it, but after a few minutes, it doesn't stop and it kinda moves higher. I glance over my shoulder and see a rat's head. I swear and grab it behind the neck so it can't bite me. It squirms and I accidently drop it. It gets away and I grumble about the lazy cats.
I could hear it for a while, but forget about it soon enough. About 40 minutes later, I feel it behind me again. I grab it, and this time I'm not letting go. I go to Mum's room and wake her up. It was bloody big too, but mainly I want the damn cats. They don't take much notice, so I go out to the kitchen to see if I can drop it on the mouse trap. Then the cats come out and want me to put food in theif bowl! They still don't care about the mouse. The mouse trap didn't work, so the only thing I can think of is to put it into a juice bottle and fill it with water. Mum wanted me to take it outside and let it go "because it evaded the cats and should have another chance".. Anyway, it ended up dead by being drowned... Even then the cats didn't want it.
Damn cats got me doing their jobs for them!

Oh, and on a side note, I've worked out how to catch mice and rats in mouse traps without bait.

Stupid cats..

5:58 pm - Wha the?
What the hell is going on in Australian politics lately? I count 5 premieres or oposition leaders retiring in the last 18ish months..
Carr, Bracks, NSW Oposition leader who tried to commit suicide, the WA premiere and now Peter Beatie..
I swear there must be a conspiracy going on here

10:18 am - Wheeee!
I've been looking at Gizmodo.com.au and at the gadgets they look at on there.. There's pretty cool things on there....

http://www.tesora.com.au/TokyoFlash_Tweleve_59_B_Watch__100.htm
It's an awesome looking watch that I reeeeally want to get. I've never been able to get into wearing any kind of jewelry or things like that. I take it off for bed and generally don't remember to put them on again until sometime the next week.. Then they'd seem to go missing, never to be seen again... but this! I'd feed it and wash it and take it for walks every day! GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!

I know that I already have a USB thumb drive, but these things are so cool!
http://mimoco.com/
I want the green and blue one with his mouth open and sharp teeth.

This looks like it would be such a sweet toy..
http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2007/08/roboboa_pet_snake_robot_with_t.html#more

If anyone likes watching Monkey Business on Animal Planet like I do, you might be shocked (I was) that Jim Cronin died in March from liver cancer.

I ordered myself visa debit card last week.. I'm hoping it comes Monday, cause I had to have $500 in my account when I ordered it and I don't want to risk withdrawing until I get the card.

Still waiting for goddam Telstra to upgrade the phone line so we can get broadband.

Am pondering buying a NDS and getting Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Don't care what anyone says about my age! I like playing Pokemon, and you don't get a NDS emulator. Can play online, too! Lots of cool.

7:00 pm - Dr. Who
Doctor Who is on tonight at 7.30 on the ABC. Third Season. Sweetness!

I finally found a game I was looking for for about two years last week! Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. Lots of fun! Sci-fi is the bestest!

Katherine Kerr's new book came out a couple weeks ago. We got two copies cause Mum left one of them in the trolley at the Square. Also got Season 5 of Scrubs which rawks.

Won two recliners at the Tender Centre, but can't get one of them inside.

Thinking about creating a website for the Osbournes... Not the TV show, but the family on Mum's side. A front news kinda page with a forum and maybe some blogs.

Oh! I saw this thing on Discovery Science last week on the house of the future and it did some stuff on alternative energy. Solar panels seemed to be really inefficient for their price. Powerwise, the best is 510W for $4000.
But there are also wind turbines that you can buy, which would work great where we are, and you can get 1kW for $1490. Or there is 200W for $479, 300W for $690 or 500W for $929. So, yeah.. Wind power really seems to be the way to go.

Well, gotta go.. Dr. Who is on!

8:20 am - uuurg..
So, I'm applying to do an IT course at TAFE and on the application I need to write a letter to a politician about something I choose.
I have no idea what to write other than "Lismore needs free WiFi spots so I can download podcasts." Wonder if the Chairman of the Workers Club is classified as a politician.
Maybe I should just try it the OTEN way.

4:49 pm - Damn it!
I just talked to Acer, and they told me that if I want to get the problem of my laptop zapping me fixed with the warranty, I need to take it to a place in Ballina. Sucks!

For my own reference:

Leading Edge Ballina Business Machines
Shop 19 Ballina West Shopping Center
Pacific Highway
(02) 6686 3932

I'll ring them tomorrow and probably take a bus there next week if I can't get mum to take me.
Will hopefully be able to get the problem with headphones only working about 5% of the time fixed as well... Best back up my hard drives just in case..

Off to bed now..Still looking for a good mood thingy too..

Dialup is so sloooooooooow!

The new Ikea in Brisbane really needs to put up a sign to let people know how to get to their damn huge store.. We went through three different exits. So, for anyone who wants to go to the Ikea in Brisbane, you take Exit 23. Got two book cases for DVDs from Ikea and getting a toolbox from oo.com.au...

The new Katherine Karr book comes out soon, which is cool.

... I need broadbaaaaaaand! Telstra better fix up the phone line fastquicksmart!

On wireless network at my sister's place and she has broadband.. Oh my bloody god, I just updated like 15 add-ons for Firefox in under two minutes. That's insane! Bloody Telstra better get their act together and fix our phone line so we can get broadband, or they'll likely get a keyboard to the skull.
It's going to be hard to go back to dialup... I think I'm going to download Dr. Karl while I can.
